Cigar Review: EO Brands No. 21

Cigar Facts:
Cigar: EO No. 21
Size: 5×50 Robusto
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Panama, Honduras
Origin: Nicaragua
Price: $37.75 for a bundle of 21

Initial Thoughts: I am a big fan of EO Brand’s cigars. The Cubao, 601 Green and 601 Red are some of my favorite cigars, so when I saw a bundle cigar made by Eddie and Erik, I had to try it. For a bundle cigar, this cigar looks great. If you were to hand me this cigar without the band on it, I would tell you this is $5-$10 stick. One large vein runs the entire length of the cigar but the seams are even and the cap has been applied nicely.

Flavors: The core flavor of the cigar is a creamy woody flavor with notes of almonds, vanilla and minerals. The flavors remain consistent through the entire cigar and there is not a lot of complexity to the cigar, which is very typical of your bundle cigars. The cigar in general is very smooth and mild in body.

Smoking Characteristics: About 2 months ago I took the first cigar out of the bundle and attempted to smoke it. It was plugged so bad I couldn’t even get smoke out of it. This cigar on the other hand was the exact opposite. Nice burn, great draw, solid ash.

Final Thoughts: I’m not a huge fan of Connecticut cigars and when I do smoke Connecticut cigars, they are normally Rocky Patel Connecticut’s, Perdomo Reserve Champagne’s, and the Oliva Connecticut has been growing on me lately too. This one isn’t up there with those but at less than $2 a stick I am not going to complain. Overall I did like this cigar; it was nice and smooth, the flavors were good, and this particular cigar didn’t give me any troubles.

Worth a Try: If you are a fan of Connecticut cigars you may like this one
Buy it again: I have a bundle but I don’t foresee myself buying anymore
Enjoyablity Scale: Medium
Similar Cigars: I don’t smoke a lot of Connecticut’s but I would have to say 5 Vegas Gold and Perdomo ESV 91Connecticut are the most similar cigar that I have had.
