A Little Background: The maker of the G.A.R is George A. Rico is the maker of Gran Habano cigars. Some of his more popular cigars in the line are the 3 Siglos and Corojo #5.
Appearance & Construction: A nice looking cigar that is well made and has a nice looking foot band. The wrapper is a nice medium brown color that sports some slight tooth. There is one small petruding vein that runs the length of the cigar but I don’t foresee it being a problem.
Smoking Characteristics: The draw is perfect on this cigar and it produces a ton of smoke. The burn is a little off but that is typical of box pressed cigars. The cigar is defiantly a slow burner and took some time to smoke. The ash is a nice white color and is nice and compact with no flowering or flaking. This cigar is dubbed as a full bodied smoke but I would say it is on the lower end of medium.
Flavor: Wow, this cigar is smooth as a baby’s ass. The cigar has nice creamy flavors of caramel, cedar, and coffee. The retro hale through the nose has nice earthy floral notes. The second third is much of the same but in the final third the flavors really picky up and a slight pepperiness is added.
Final Thoughts: This is a nice cigar. I can’t believe the smoothness and the creaminess of this cigar. It smoked so nice. I’m not too big on the Gran Habano line that George makes but this one is definaltly a winner in my book. I think this is a cigar that would be enjoyed by the mild to medium bodied smokers but still has enough flavor to keep the full bodied smokers interested.
Worth a Try: Yes, I think this is a cigar that can be enjoyed by all cigar enthusiast
Buy Again: Yes, I will keep a five pack in the humidor
