Cigar Background: This cigar was released at this year’s IPCPR Conference in New Orleans and features a Habano wrapper that is grown on the La Canela farm which is the same farm that the LG Deiz cigars use. This is a limited release cigar in which 700 boxes of 20 were made. These cigars are part of Litto’s new “experimental” cigars which also include the Coronado Maduro and the Litto Gomez Small Batch Special Reserve.

Appearance & Construction: A nice looking cigar with an oily milk chocolate colored wrapper that has a little tint of red to it. The wrapper has a nice smooth texture with a few lumps here in there. The roll is great and is virtually seamless. The cigar also sports a nice triple cap.

Smoking Characteristics: The LFD Habano has a nice draw with a bit of resistance. The burn is fairly even and the ash is a darker gray color that is strong and compact. The ash also had absolutely no flowering or flaking. The body of the cigar is medium, the strength is full and the flavors are medium to full.

Flavors: The cigar has a nice cedary core with some notes of coffee and caramel like sweetness. The spice is nicely balanced with the rest of the cigar and is more of a crushed red pepper spice than a black pepper spice. I am pleasantly surprised with the balance of flavors of this cigar. Nothing tries to overpower the cigar and it flow’s really nicely on the palate. In the second third I pick up notes of dried fruit almost like dried apricots.

Final Thoughts: This is a very nice cigar and is a nothing like any Litto Gomez stick I have had. It was a nice smooth cigar with an excellent flavor profile that was nice and pronounced. The one complaint I do have about this cigar is the availability. I am not a big fan of limited release cigars. I like to smoke them but when I like the cigar and want to buy more and can’t, its a real disappointment. I realize why it is done by manufactures but I really hope Litto decides to keep this blend around.

Worth a Shot: Yes
Buy Again: Yes, this cigar is on my long list of boxes to get
Enjoyablity: High
