Cigar Review – J. Fuego Delirium

Cigar Review – J. Fuego Delirium

Wrapper: Brazilian Maduro
Binder: Costa Rican Corojo
Filler: Honduran and Nicaraguan Corojo
Made In: Honduras
Size: 5×50 Robusto
Price: About $7.50 per single

Appearance & Construction: The J. Fuego Delirium has a dark oily wrapper with a few larger veins running throughout the cigar. The band is quite simple but does the trick and the construction seems good with no visual defects.

Smoking Characteristics: The Delirium has a good draw that produces a good amount of smoke. The burn on the Delirium was slightly uneven which can be attributed to the sheer amount of oils on the wrapper. The ash was solid and compact and had no flowering of flaking.

Flavors: The J. Fuego Delirium shows some nice dark fruity flavors with some pronounced notes of espresso. The finish of the cigar is earthy but is also pretty sweet on the palate. There is just something about this cigar that is different and I can’t quite put my finger on it; it’s just different, but not in a bad way. Things remain generally the same in the second third but a noticeable spice starts to pick up in the final third. The body of the cigar starts off medium to full but reaches the full spectrum in the final third. The strength on the Delirium is average.

Final Thoughts: Overall I really enjoyed the J. Fuego Delirium. There is something about this cigar that makes it unique and it’s killing me that I can’t pinpoint it. Rich unique flavors that are balanced and slightly complex, there is no doubt this cigar is a winner in my book. This cigar calls Maduro lovers by their names and will not disappoint very many cigar enthusiasts.

Cigar Rating: Great

  1. RevSmoke says:

Along with the robusto size, I have also had the Minuto (4.25X40) from this line, also excellent. I have noted some of the same flavors you found, but also had a strong cocoa (not to be confused with chocolate). Could the flavor that tickled your memory be nutmeg, I thought that was also present.

Good review for a great stick.

  2. The Delirium is one of my favorite J. Fuegos. I absolutely love the Lancero!
