From Smoke Inn website: Litto Gomez really pushed the envelope in creating the blend for Air Bender. Named after Litto’s love for Kung Fu movies featuring martial artists with special powers, the Air Bender is intense and powerful. The cigars are made from a blend of Gomez’s homegrown Dominican filler and binder tobaccos, including some piloto Cubano, Sumatra seed and Corojo. The wrapper is a leaf of Habano seed grown in Ecuador. These smokes definitely come without training wheels.
Appearance & Construction: The La Flor Dominicana Air Bender is a fantastic looking cigar. The Air Bender has a slightly rough texture to the wrapper but is extremely oily and is adorned by a nice looking band. There is a moderate amount of smaller veins on the wrapper and the construction looks fabulous.
Smoking Characteristics: The La Flor Air Bender has good draw and produces a decent amount of smoke. The burn is pretty even considering how oily the wrapper is and the ash is solid and compact. No complaints in this category.
Flavor: Wow this cigar hits you like a ton of bricks at the beginning in body and strength. The La Flor Dominicana Air Bender starts out ultra full in body and with rich flavors of earth, pepper and a fruity sweetness to balance things out. The second third shows nice flavors of oak, nuts, caramel, and some floral notes. At this time the cigar has mellowed down a bit but is still in the medium to full realm of things. There is also a bit of leather that seems to come in and out which is a nice added bonus. In the final third the oaky woodiness really comes through and is still complimented by the fruity sweetness. The body is down to about the medium realm and is quite nice.
Final Thoughts: Overall I really enjoyed the La Flor Dominicana Air Bender. The beginning of this cigar is impressively strong and goes without saying; this cigar is not for the meek. The cigar offers great flavor that is fairly complex. I could definitely see myself smoking a lot more of these in the future.
