Appearance & Construction: The Camacho Coyolar is your average looking cigar. The wrapper is medium brown in color and has a small amount of smooth thin veins. The band is nothing special but is very simple and does the trick.
Smoking Characteristics: The Camacho Coyolar has a nice free draw that I have come to appreciate in Camacho cigars. The burn line of the Coyolar is razor sharp. The ash is solid and compact and does not show any signs of flaking.
Flavor: The first third of the Camacho Coyolar has notes of wood, spice and a touch of coffee. The flavors aren’t overly complex but they are very nice and very pleasant. The second and final third are much of the same but with a more of a creamy nuttiness on the finish and a bit more body. The body of the Camacho Coyolar stars off in the medium spectrum but slowly progresses throughout the cigar and gets into the full realm of things. The strength on the other hand is felt right away and throughout the entire cigar. This cigar gets me everytime with its strength and this time is no exception. The thing is though, that I don’t mind it. I know it’s coming and makes for a nice relaxing smoke.
Final Thoughts: I have to say that the Camacho Coyolar is one of my favorite Camacho Cigars even over the Corojo line. It is definitely not complex by any means nor is it balanced very well but I just love the woodsy flavors of this cigar. The strength is also a plus for me with this cigar. Some days you just need a strong cigar to throw you back in your chair and force you to relax and the Camacho Coyolar does just that. I would say if full bodied cigars with a nice woodiness are your thing, go out and grab yourself some of these; I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
