Cigar Review – Padron Londres Maduro

Cigar Review- Padron Londres Maduro

This review is a long time coming. I’ve had Fire Up That Cigar up for almost a year now and I have yet to review anything from Padron, one of the most respected and highly regarded names in the business. The Padron Series are a cigar that I smoked all the time when I was getting into full bodied cigars. It was my daily smoke of choice and I loved it. As with most cigar enthusiast we tend to move on to different cigars and who can blame us, there is a plethora of new cigars hitting the market on what seems to be a daily occurrence. I still smoke a fair share of Padron Series cigars but not like I used to. But before I give away this review lets go ahead and fire up this Padron Londres Maduro.

Padron Londres Maduro Wrapper: Nicaraguan Maduro
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Made In: Nicaragua
Size: 5.5×42 Londres
Price: about $4-$5 per cigar

Appearance & Construction: The Padron Londres Maduro is a rough looking cigar. The wrapper has some larger veins to it and the texture is lumpy and toothy. The construction is nice though with the seam lines being hardly noticeable. The cap on the other hand is a little sloppy.

Smoking Characteristics: A smooth draw with just a bit of resistance allows a good amount of smoke to come from this cigar. The burn line is uneven due to the lumpiness of the cigar but nothing out of control. The ash is surprisingly strong for such a smaller ring guage and holds on for about an inch.

Flavor: The Padron Londres Maduro has nice flavors of earth, espresso, leather and spice. The cigar is not overly complex and is not rounded out very well but regardless I like the flavor of this cigar. The cigar stays pretty consistent throughout the thirds in the flavor department but the body of the cigar does seem to pick up as the cigar smokes. This Padron starts off in the medium body range but works its way to full body by the final third. The strength of the Padron Londres is average.

Final Thoughts: After all those years the Padron Series is still a very nice cigar. As stated above this cigar is not complex but the flavors are nice and rich and for the price, you won’t see me complain. This cigar brought back fond memories of when I first started smoking cigar and I think I may be visiting this cigar more often.

Cigar Ratings: Good

The Padron Londres was one of the first cigars I liked enough to consider a box purchase. I still love these cigars and smoke them often.

I absolutley love these things! Being a Padron whore, the Londres Maduro is an excellent size for this blend. I need another box of these.
