Appearance & Construction: The Don Pepin Garcia Blue Label is a nice looking cigar with a Cuban style triple cap. The wrapper of the cigar is medium brown in color with a tint of red to it. The cigar is nice and oily and smooth to the touch. Construction as always with Pepin Cigars is impecable.

Smoking Characteristics: The Blue Label has a nice draw to it that produces a good amount of smoke. The burn is even and the ash is solid and compact.

Flavor: The Don Pepin Garcia Blue Label starts off like most of Pepin’s cigars; spicy. As many people are growing tired of the Pepin Blast, I for one still love it and will probably always love it. It’s a nice start to a cigar, it pops you in the mouth to let you know it’s there and quickly settles down to show you what the cigar has to offer. After the initial half inch the cigar shows a nice bouquet of cedar, leather, cappuccino, earth and pepper. As the second third approaches the cigar becomes much smoother and creamier and in the final third the spice picks back up.

Final Thoughts: I’ve smoked my fair share of the Don Pepin Garcia Blue Label and let me tell you, this cigar never disappoints. Nice rich full flavored cigar that is pretty complex. Some cigar enthusiast think that Pepin may be over extending himself with all the different blends he does for himself and other cigar companies and I am not going to argue that topic at this time, but I will say that this is a cigar you can go back to and it just revitalize your love for Pepin Cigars. There is no doubt that Pepin is one of the hottest cigar blenders at the time of this review and even if he is “making too many blends” this cigar exemplifies the true talent this guy has at blending Cuban style cigars. It almost makes me wonder why people seek out Cuban cigars when you have cigars like these that are readily available.
