Cigar Review – Nicarao by Rocky Patel
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Colorado
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Made In: Honduras
Size: Toro – 6×52
Price: About $5 per single
Appearance & Construction: The Rocky Patel Nicarao is a decent looking cigar. The chocolate colored wrapper on the Nicarao has some larger veins running the length of the cigar and it is also somewhat lumpy. Northing special to look at but it’ll do.
Smoking Characteristics: The Nicarao by Rocky Patel has a very free draw on that produces massive amounts of smoke. The burn line was fairly even and the ash was nice and compact with no flaking.
Flavor: The Nicarao by Rocky Patel starts off with your typical Nicaraguan flavors; pepper, earth and coffee. The finish is dry and left md reaching for something to drink. While the cigar is balanced nicely on the palate, there is no character to the flavors – nothing unique and nothing special, the cigar is quite boring. The body of this cigar was mild to medium while the strength was medium.
Final Thoughts: Overall I thought the Nicarao was an average cigar. It has nice smoking characteristics decent flavor but the cigar lacked any character. There was nothing special about this cigar that would make me go out and get more. Would I smoke it again? Sure why not, but there are plenty of better cigars out there.
