Cigar Review: Padilla Cazadores

Padilla Cazadores
Wrapper: Ecuadorian
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Made In: Nicaragua
Size: Torpedo
Price: About $6-$7

Appearance & Construction: The Padilla Cazadores is a nice looking cigar. A chocolate brown wrapper covers this cigar and it has only a few small veins. The cigar is very light in the hand and almost seems like its under filled. The roll looks great with nice even seam lines. The band is a gorgeous gold on black with nice red accents.

Smoking Characteristics: The Cazadores has a very light draw and is very free. The draw produces a ton of smoke which proved great for blowing smoke rings. The burn was a little off but nothing too bad. The ash was pretty gnarly and had a heavy amount of flaking. The body of this cigar is mild to medium which is a definite departure from most Padilla cigars. The strength was average, or medium.

Flavor: The flavor of the Padilla Cazadores is quite different from most Padilla cigars. The primary flavors are a cedary, amondy, floral combination that also shows heavy amount honey sweetness. The second third was much of the same but a noticeable spice showed up in the final third.

Final Thoughts: Overall I thought this was a decent cigar however the sweetness was a bit over the top for me. Generally I prefer a moderate amount of sweetness in cigars however I think this would be a great cigar for those who crave their smokes sweet.

Worth a Shot: Yes, for those who like their cigar sweet
Buy Again: Maybe
Rating: Okay

  1. We had this one reviewed a little while ago.
Also noticed that it was underfilled (with a HUGE soft – check out the pic) and the same sweetness was detected.
    Thanks for the review.
