Cigar Background: Taken from their website: At Flatbed Cigar Company (owner/distributor of PANACEA) we are taking an Old-School approach to the cigar business. Right or wrong, it is the path we decided to take. The philosophy is: put all the money into tobacco. If we focus on making great cigars, they will sell themselves over time. Based in Bucks County Pennsylvania, Flatbed Cigar Company enjoys great tobacco tradition. After all…one of America’s first cigar factories was in Conestoga, PA., the birthplace of the “Stogie”. While our distribution is here, our manufacturing is in the Dominican Republic. Now in it’s second generation, our factory continues to produce the finest cigars from the choicest tobaccos.

Initial Thoughts: This is a nice looking cigar. The construction is impeccable; the wrapper is toothy looking but overall looks great. The band is nothing to brag about but as stated above, the money is in the tobacco. Lets fire up this bad boy and see what we get.

Flavors: This cigar starts off with a nice mellow earthly peppery flavors but once the cigar settles in, it takes on a distinct mild coffee flavor that reminds me of Folgers Coffee; nice and mellow. I also get a hint of molasses that seems to come and go. The body starts off mild to medium but progresses into the medium to full spectrum.

Smoking Characteristics: The draw is great, the burn is perfect and the ash hangs on good; can’t ask for much more in this department.

Final Thoughts: Overall I liked this cigar. I will say that if all you smoke is full bodied stuff, this cigar may not be for you. The flavors are in no way bold or rich and the cigar is very laid back. I can see myself smoking this when I am looking for something that is a little lighter on the palate but still want something with decent flavor. Those of you who enjoy medium bodied maduros will flip over this cigar.
