Cigar Review – Tatuaje Especiales
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Corojo 99
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Made In: Miami, FL USA – El Rey de los Habanos
Size: Especiales 7 ½ x 38 – Lancero
Price: $9.50 per single cigar
Appearance & Construction: The Tatuaje Especiales is a nice looking lancero. The milk-chocolate colored wrapper has a few small veins that are smooth to the touch. The construction looks fantastic on the Especiales and is finished with a chopped pigtail cap.
Smoking Characteristics: The Tatuaje Especiales has a nice smooth draw which a testament to how good this cigar is made. Typically Lancero’s have a little tighter draw than their brothers and sisters in the line and this one draws like a champ. The burn is dead even however the ash does not hold on which is typical of almost all Lancero’s.
Flavors: The Tatuaje Especiales has nice notes of coffee, leather, nutmeg and cedar. The Especiales is complex and balanced on the palate and is rather smooth. As the cigar progresses through the second third some chocolate notes start to appear and I also notice the body start to pick up.
Final Thoughts: The Tatuaje Especiales is a fantastic cigar. The flavor is great; the cigar is complex, smooth and balanced. The flavor is impressive but the draw on this lancero is outstanding and I can’t think of another lancero that had that good of a draw. Typically I’m not a huge fanatic of Lancero’s because I like a smooth free draw, this cigar has changed my mind.
Cigar Rating: Great

I’m still wanting to try the J21 off your review last year. I recently finished a box of the Noella..and to be honest, don’t really get it?! I have for some time believed the Cabaiguan to be the best Pete has made. The flavors are so subtle in the Miami line, and so expensive to me for what you get. Nice review here, but for $9.50, I will pass.
CJ, The J21 will be more up your alley. more flavor and more body
