Fire Up That Cigar's Top 25 Cigars of 2009

Man what a great year to be a Cigar Enthusiast. 2009 saw a great year of outstanding cigars and our Top 25 list was extremely hard to narrow down with all the great cigars that we have reviewed this year. Now, I have not been in the cigar industry for very long but it is hard to imagine a better year in cigars than 2009.

Some of my personal achievements in the world of cigars this year is of course is staring this website that I truly believe to be a great asset to Cigar Enthusiast everywhere. I also became a tobacconist this year working part-time at Titletown Tobacco in Green Bay, WI.

Enough about me already, let me explain the list. This list is comprised of cigars that I have smoked and reviewed this year. Even though I only started this gig in May this list is a full year of cigars and I made sure to review cigars that I knew would make this list so the list would be complete. The cigars on the list weren’t necessarily released in 2009 but a good majority of them were. Without further hindrance here is Fire Up That Cigar’s Top 25 Cigars of 2009.

1. Tatuaje Reserva J21 – My favorite cigar, what can I say this cigar is quite simply amazing.
2. Viaje Holiday Blend – A limited release cigar but another amazing cigar
3. El Titan de Bronze Redemption Lancero – Reasonably priced and great flavor.
4. Ashton ESG 22 Year Salute – Expensive SOB but absolutely fantastic.
5. Padilla 1932 Robusto – One of my go-to cigars of 2009.
6. Cuba Alliados Miami Edition Toro – A excellent cigar that I was turned onto by Jerry Cruz from Stogie Review.
7. Oliva Serie V Maduro Especial 2008 Torpedo – A great cigar when it came out and even better with age.
8. Illusione Epernay Le Grande – An excellent cigar from the mind of Dion.
9. Rocky Patel Decade Torpedo – A special cigar to me. I smoked this cigar when my son was born.
10. Nestor Miranda 20th Anniversary Danno – A big fat ass cigar that you will be happy to smoke for hours on end.
11. Tatuaje Havana VI Nobles – A solid go-to cigar.
12. Padilla 1948 Robusto – This cigar is perfect for a hot and humid Summer Day.
13. Illusione cg:4 – Another solid go-to cigar and Dion’s second cigar in the Top 25
14. La Flor Dominicana DL452 – A stout little powerhouse, I love this size.
15. Illusioine hl – One of the Best Lancero’s I have ever had, Dion’s 3rd cigar on the Top 25.
16. La Flor Dominicana Ligero L300 – A meaty cigar that reminded me of a good BBQ.
17. El Triunfador Lancero – Initially I didn’t rate this cigar very high but this cigar does much better with some age.
18. Fuente Fuente Opus X Perfection X – What can I say, a top 25 isn’t complete without an Opus.
19. Pinar Del Rio Oscuro – A great cigar
